กรุงเทพ ฯ และปริมณฑลยังคงปกคลุมไปด้วยฝุ่นละออง PM 2.5 งานวิจัยหลายชิ้นแสดงให้เห็นว่านอกจากฝุ่นละอองจะสามารถผ่านเข้าไปในร่างกายทางระบบทางเดินหายใจ แล้วยังสามารถแทรกซึมเข้าไปทางผิวหนัง และก่อให้เกิดการระคายเคืองได้อีกด้วย
